And those priorities can change: Tracey recalls one couple who was originally in search of a prestigious home in the most expensive neighbourhood their financing would allow. As the search progressed, however, Tracey says the status idea just dissolved.

“It became clear to me – and to them – that what they were really looking for was a sense of community in a family-oriented neighbourhood. As a result, they found that feeling of belonging, a great place to live, and a bigger house too!”

Tracey made the move to real estate after more than twenty years in administration and customer service. Now, she applies her considerable communication and people skills in a more rewarding environment, she says.

“When I was working in an office, my contact with people was limited to the scope of a specific task. I wanted to have more of an impact on peoples’ lives. Real Estate is exciting and I love to help clients find the right home.”

Tracey has bought and sold homes herself, so she’s very patient and understanding throughout the process. “I screen properties before I take clients to view them, and gradually we narrow down the field until we find something that works. It can take weeks - sometimes months. But I stick with it until the job is done.”
